Section 1 — My Restaurant Journey

THE STORY OF DONA JACKY

Before Foodies Forward existed, there was a restaurant. This is where it all started.

In January 2021, Dona Jacky opened its doors in a 340-square-foot location. It started as a small snack shop — the kind of place where everything felt scrappy and every customer mattered.

Within 11 months, the business had grown so much that it moved into a 2,700-square-foot location and expanded into a full restaurant. The first year closed at approximately $352,000 in sales. The second year exceeded $800,000. By the third year, Dona Jacky was on track to surpass $1 million in annual sales.

That experience provided firsthand knowledge of restaurant operations, marketing, customer acquisition, growth challenges, staffing, customer retention, and the real-world pressure of scaling a food business from zero.

Although Dona Jacky is no longer operating due to family circumstances, the lessons learned became the foundation for Foodies Forward — and the reason helping other restaurant owners grow is more than a business. It is personal.

Business Overview

The Burger Spot is a family-owned burger restaurant in Waxahachie, Texas. Foodies Forward has been working with them for approximately one year.

The Journey

The relationship started with Meta Ads. As results improved, we added online ordering and gradually increased the advertising investment. The Burger Spot went from doing approximately $15,000 per month in sales to more than $85,000 per month, a transformation driven by consistent, strategic growth.
